Art Rockets

One of my students favorite project each year is creating art rockets. This project combines many different aspects of art, science and math. In this photograph students have designed their rocket color scheme and are preparing to paint. I found that acrylic paint works best for painting the rockets. The fins are made out of fantasy foam hot glued to the bottle.
Here students have painted their rockets and are ready to launch their rockets. We launch the rockets one class at a time using two or three launchers at a time.
